My horse was having some soreness/tightness issues in his shoulders and Jared came out and took thermal images (so cool!) did an absolutely wonderful job massaging my horse! I was blown away not only by how relaxed my guy was but also by the immediate results. My horse was tracking up so much better after and had such an improvement with the extension in this shoulders. Jared is an absolute godsend! He truly takes his time and works with the animal rather than against them. I love that he did the thermal imaging on my mare pre-massage to see what may be causing her discomfort so that he could really work on those spots. I also love that he’ll stay and see the horse work for a few minutes post-massage to ensure good work was done. I highly recommend Jared as an equine massage therapist.... he’s been seeing my 10-year-old Morgan gelding for over 2 years. Very professional and thorough. Jared has done amazing work on my guys! I have two older geldings. One with very interesting health. I had Jared come out after my pinto coliced to see if there was something he could do and after evaluating him, he right away told me to get Dr. Katz out to do chiro work on him before he even touched him. That to me shows he knows his stuff and respects the horses and their bodies. After I had Katz out, Jared has been out every other week to help keep my boy going nice and relaxed! If it wasn’t for Jared, my boy and I wouldn’t be where we are right now! And I wouldn’t be seeming the horse I know so thank you Jared for everything you do, and I will see you very soon! My mare had her first session with Equal Balance Equine Massage this week and I was blown away with the immediate results. She felt much more supple through her neck and shoulders and more swingy in her gaits overall. My trainer also felt a difference.

Jared spent nearly 3 hours with us, answering all of my 50000 questions with equal enthusiasm. He watched her move prior to the massage, massaged for over an hour, and watched her go after the massage. He was kind and patient with my extremely sensitive mare and used tons of positive reinforcement. I can't wait for him to come out again! I HIGHLY recommend Jared for your horse’s massage needs. I have a mustang mare who has been particularly difficult for over a year. More often than not, I wouldn’t be able to catch her and on the rare occasion that I could, she was miserable to be working. Jared came out and found MASSIVE knots in multiple places, visible on the thermal imager, which was definitely causing her discomfort. Massages along with using the Epiony heat pad on her poll area where she has issues with soreness has been SO helpful. Watching her blossom into a friendly, attention-demanding animal after a year of struggling to get her to trust people has been phenomenal. She loves seeing Jared come into the barn and it’s been 100x worth it to have him in our regular routine. Since her first massage, I’ve been able to start her under saddle and make a tremendous amount of progress. Jared is an incredible horseman and really knows how to deal with anything put in front of him. From our blind horse with a stuck stifle to a hot OTTB with a giant knot in his back, he handles everything wonderfully, ensures the horse's safety and comfort are not compromised, and always makes sure that the owner understands what is happening, and allows them the ability to learn how to manage it when he is not able to come out and work on them every day. I suspected that my rescue Standardbred, Colby, had some stiffness in his neck or poll. He had a strange habit of head-tossing/chest-biting that I was unable to identify with any specific health-concern, so I decided to try an equine massage to see if that offered any insight.

I was a little hesitant to schedule at first because Colby still has some trust issues--he's a little nervous with strangers, a little standoffish, and can make some angry faces when he feels insecure. However, I was immediately reassured by Jared's patient, calm approach. While I do not have a full background on my horse's history, I believe he had been with the Amish after coming off the track, his exact workload for the last 12 years is a mystery. Lacking this information, Jared was still able to identify multiple knots and sore spots on him and was able to clearly explain the problem areas that he identified.

I am absolutely amazed by the results I've already seen! I assumed that even if Colby's head-tossing were partly a response to discomfort, it was also likely a nervous habit at this point which might take some time to curb. But here we are, 24 hours later, and I've yet to see a single head toss and have a happy, content gelding. Thank you, Jared!! – Caroline Gunn
